Church Without Sound

Really enjoyed this short blog post called Church Without Sound written by Kent Shaffer Owner of Bombay Creative and KentShaffer.com

Thsi bit was really interesting too:

Albert Mehrabian’s research shows that communication is influenced only 7% by words, 38% by tone of voice, and 55% by body language. All too often, we focus on the 7% of words and forget to invest in non-audible influencers, such as body language and environment.

Your turn - of Kent's 7 dot points which one did you connect with most?

Yes - communication is tricky! We've been discussing this in more depth recently as we try and find a new church home on the Sunshine Coast. Not only should you ask: what am I communicating?; but also what are we not communicating?; how much is there that a visitor (or non-christian) doesn't know?

We've also walked away from some with negative impressions, with no tangible reason why. That may be that 55% coming into play. I wonder whether the time of year can catch up with us and have us a little tired with our eyes not on the ball as much?
