Prayer for Today

Today we will honour our friend Merv with a full committal service and memorial service.

It will be a sad day.

Here is what one of the grand children will say:

Some of us want to be close to the things he loved and used, but some of us want to be as far away as possible, because they remind us too much of him and we start to cry.

We all cope with our pain differently.

We may cry a lot or we may just feel the sadness in our hearts.
I believe God knew this was going to happen and will use Poppy’s death for something bigger and better.

Even though it is really hard and we will miss him, at least we can know that we can join him one day.
We will miss you Poppy

We need a prayer for today.... so here goes!

Lord, we do not understand everything you do, or the things that you allow to happen.
We do know that the Bible says you are in control of everything, however, disappointing or displeasing the circumstances might be.
We come to You now with our shattered dreams and our broken hearts.
We bring to You our fears and our tears, our confusion and our sadness.
The one request I have of you today is that you help the Locke family, their friends and their supporters find the strength in You they need.
Encourage us today.
Please strengthen us.
May Your presence here with us today make a difference in the way we face each new day.
In Jesus’ name,
