Subscribe to a Podcast - Westlife Church

Shane has cracked the final part of the podcast code and we are good to go with podcast subscriptions.

For example in iTunes you click the "podcast" option in the column on the LH menu.

Then go to the "advanced" tab on the top menu.

Then choose the "subscribe to a podcast" option.

And then enter this address

http://podcast.westlifechurch.org.au/rss.xml

The link is RSS 2.0 compliant.

Once the subsciption is confirmed iTunes will automaticlaly search for new updates when you are connected to the internet.

So even when you don't get to church the message will be auto downloaded for you.

You will also be able to download previous editions of teaching and series.

Enjoy!!

Build the Anointing in You and LIFT!

I had the privilege of preaching yesterday as we closed the current teaching series. I did a message with a great story from Tracy Skellern-Smith.

The message was called Build the Anointing in You and LIFT!

If you were not at the Celebration here is the link to the audio clip.

The track will be on the Westlife Church website podcast section soon.
http://podcast.westlifechurch.org.au/

In relation to speaking in tongues for an extended period and the benefits, check out these 2 previous posts about books from Joyce Meyer and Oral Roberts. Well worth a read!

Here are few quick phrases from the message:

Learning to live strong with God is not about opening a can of LIFT and shoving it down quick
It’s about cultivating a healthy, ongoing relationship with God through Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit lives in you – he dwells there.
To borrow from a great local real estate mogul –Holy Spirit has His Abode – in you!
God says, “your life is My Abode”

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:27 (NKJV)

Every time you obey is like making a deposit into the bank of inner strength
Every act of submission is a kiss to your relationship with Jesus
Every time you say, “not my will but Yours, LORD” is an investment in your now and your future and the presence of God in and around your life.

Resignation Audio

It's been a very emotional season. And yesterday was no exception.

Pastor Steve Dixon from Hillsong Brisbane introduced our resignation section at the end of the Celebration. He was very generous about the launch, health and growth of Westlife Church.

If you were not at the Celebration here is a link the audio clip. Goes for about 30 minutes and Steve and Van pray for us at the end.

We closed with the Hillsong track, Stronger. I am glad the focus was on Jesus as we closed.

The track will be on the Westlife Church website podcast section soon.

That's here.... http://podcast.westlifechurch.org.au/

We Have Podcasts!

I mentioned recently that Shane was putting in a great effort to get Westlife Podcasts up and running on the church website.

Well, last night he has done it!

You can go to our church website here or type http://westlifechurch.org.au and click the orange podcast option... just like in this photo.

It will then take you to a page that looks like this.

You will need to download Microsoft Silverlight (option where you open the page) which lets you listen to the podcast on our website. Otherwise download the podcast to your computer.

(PS -Microsoft Silverlight is less that 5MB to download and install, and is a great, safe product)

Changes will be made to the site soon where you can download the notes for the message in most cases.

We are also working on converting the files to MP3 so you can podcast subscribe on iTunes. The link for the RSS is http://podcast.westlifechurch.org.au/rss.xml

Thanks Shane .. and to those people who helped in the testing phase!

Podcasts Page - Almost There!

Shane has been doing a great job getting us close to launching our weekly podcast page.

Here is an image of the draft!

Not long now!

My Next Chapter - the New Series has Started!

Tracy Skellern-Smith powerfully launched off with part 1. It was awesome.

Reach our World!

I really enjoyed doing the part 6 message yesterday of the Re-enACTS series.

You can click here to download the podcast.

Here is a slab of scripture that I used as a base about the Church in Antioch.

19 Now those who had been scattered by the persecution in connection with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, telling the message only to Jews.
20 Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
21 The Lord's hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.

22 News of this reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
23 When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.
24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
25 Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul,
26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
27 During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
28 One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.)
29 The disciples, each according to his ability, decided to provide help for the brothers living in Judea.
30 This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.
Acts 11:19-30 (NIV)

Van Shore - Wild Spirit-Man!

Pastor Van Shore is a wild Spirit-man!

"Who could do it better than ... (Van)? For he is a man who is obviously filled with the spirit of God."
Genesis 41:38 (NLT)

We had a great time with him last time at BIG Wednesday and he again delivered a powerful message with a ministry time.

If you missed it you can download the podcast here.

Thanks Van - and it was great that you could come off the bench and be the super-sub for Steve Dixon.

Here are some attempts at photos... but he just moved too quick!

If you missed the message you can download the podcast here.

Re-enACTS - Part 1 - Let God out of the Box - Podcast

Here is a link to listen to last night's message.

It is called Let God out of the Box. God really moved in some lives last night. I will never get tired of seeing that!

During the message I make this bold statement, based on some research and reflection.
